Affordable Residencies for
Artists, Musicians, Writers,
and Performers

Come experience the beauty of the northern Catskills from the Main Street of historic Prattsville. As a resident visiting for a weekend or a week-long stay, you will be immersed in the culture of our small town as well as the community of artists and musicians who circulate through this special space. Prattsville residencies offer artists informal live-work space and unstructured time to explore ideas in an artist-run environmen within walking distance to forest hiking and river swimming.  Residency participants may arrange opportunities to participate in group shows and performances in the gallery, to discuss their work with PAC’s director, artist and NYU professor, Nancy Barton, or to host events as part of their stay. Each of our three rooms is available at affordable rates, and holds 1- 4 guests, with a shared gallery workspace, café, bath, kitchen, balcony, gallery, and backyard.

Community Residencies

Community Residencies at the Prattsville Art Center are available by application to artists who wish to make a contribution to PAC’s rural cultural laboratory. Since 2012, artists and musicians from across the US and around the world, have come together with rural residents from this pristine river valley whose Main Street is still recovering from a devastating hurricane.  Artists have helped to reimagine the community by creating site-specific works, mentoring, teaching and working in collaboration with local residents and youth, and by playing a role in the ongoing rebuilding of the Center and the town. Community Residencies are free to participants, are tailored to individual projects and interests, and may last from one week to one month. Residents are selected by recommendation and application.

To apply for a Community Residency, please email us with a proposal about your interests, and how you might contribute to an experimental rural environment, as well as documentation of your recent art, writing, or performance projects.
